This week, I dove head first into the wild world of reels, and oh boy, was this gruelling!
You've all seen those influencer pros who effortlessly whip up mind-blowing reels. You know the ones—where every image is perfectly synced to the beat, leaving you in awe. Well, despite my best efforts and following tutorials until my eyes crossed, I've been struggling to replicate their magic. It's like trying to navigate a maze while wearing a blindfold—talk about a brainbuster! And trust me, the more frustrated I got, the more my content resembled a hot mess. It's like my creativity took a detour to the Bermuda Triangle!
But fear not, my lovely lot, for there's always a light at the end of the reel-shaped tunnel. I decided to take a breather, shut down my laptop, and spill my guts to my online community. I shared my reel woes and sought their wise words of advice. And wow, did they deliver!
They were all like,
"Simplify it!"
"Just go for it, no need to overcomplicate!"
So, I took their advice to heart, stripped things back to basics, and embraced the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Silly!).
Imagine this: It's a peaceful Sunday morning, the clock strikes 5 am, and there I am, in my cosy dressing gown, clutching my beloved Minnie Mouse coffee mug like a lifeline. In that serene moment, I captured a mere 5-second video, added a catchy tune and some ponderous words about being a Sunday productivity beast. And guess what? That humble reel became an overnight sensation, grabbing the attention of over a thousand people and still going strong after a whole week!
Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the fact that a simple reel can reach so many eager eyes. But seriously, can't my other content get some consistent love too? I pour my heart and soul into those pieces, you know! It's like the reel stole the spotlight and left the rest of my content in the shadows, pleading for its moment of fame.
But hey, in all seriousness, I absolutely love what I do, setbacks and all. Life would be pretty dull without its twists and turns, wouldn't it? And here's the thing: even when a post doesn't hit the jackpot, it teaches us valuable lessons. It's through our failures that we appreciate our successes and grow as creators.
Remember, my friends, as the wise ones say, "Find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life." And that's exactly what I've done! Doing what I love has opened doors I never imagined existed. It's like finding a secret treasure chest filled with opportunities.
And, on the subject of doing what I love, hold onto your hats, because I've got some exciting news to share!
On 1st June, I've been invited to be a guest on the amazing Sparkle and Thrive podcast, hosted by the one and only Joy Foster, founder of TechPixies. Can you believe it?
Now, let me tell you, if you follow me, you'll know I'm no stranger to the anxiety gremlins and self-sabotaging thoughts that sneak up, whispering, "Are you good enough?" So when Joy extended the invitation, my initial reaction was a mix of shock, doubt, and a resounding "NO!" But you know what? I'm not one to back down from a challenge. So, despite those pesky ANTS (Automatic Negative Thoughts) stomping around in my head, I summoned up my courage, pushed 'em aside, and replied with a firm "Yes! Let's do it!"
I mean, how could I possibly turn down the opportunity to be interviewed by such an inspirational woman? The topic we'll be diving into is a real taboo subject—one that many parents silently grapple with. It's a topic that can tug at your heartstrings and alter your whole bloomin' life.
So stay tuned, my friends, as I'll be sharing more details about this exciting interview on my social media accounts.
